I love kitchens. I love standing in the kitchen talking and joking with my husband as we make dinner (usually something frozen from Trader Joe’s that we throw in the oven, let’s just be honest). I love that the kitchen is a place to gather; its where you spend your time preparing meals for friends and baking for special occasions.
The kitchen in our home is tiny. When we signed our lease it was the only thing that I wasn’t so sure about. There are four cabinets. A tiny oven (thank God for Ikea and tiny baking sheets) and a dishwasher. We ended up making it work by adding extra counter and shelf space (again, thanks to Ikea) and it has since become my favorite part of our home. Not to mention, its tiny size makes it incredibly easy to clean. But I do dream of having a slightly larger kitchen one day, with, you know, more than four cabinets.
